It says that it is at the edge of a small hamlet, "La Bifoica" and that is somewhere in Tuscany.

Tuscany is very large. Tgis place seems to be at Figline Valdarno which is very near Florence--that may be good or bad. If your intent is to day trip into Florence then that is good. If you hope to se the best of the Tuscany hill towns then you need to be somewhere else. Location is always the key in Tuscany. I would much prefer further south near or south of Siena, especially if you will have a car. What is it you want from Tuscany?

Bob the navigator,
Thanks, yes,I have been so confused by this trip and where to locate ourselves for a week, and then do day trips.
My instincts were saying Siena area as Val d'Orcia has been mentioned as a beautiful place.
The kind of plan is this, Land in Rome, spend two nights, then head for Venice on the train- two nights there. Now here is where it gets tricky.
Do we take the train from Venice to Florence, then pick up a car for the Tuscany area trip-- then drop it in Siena and take the train to our plane.
Does this sound like an almost plan-- or any suggestions?

I assume you cannot fly home from venice--that is a shame. If you are not staying in Florence then I would get the car in Venice[Piazzale Roma] and drive to Tuscany. The time is the same and you avoid car pickup with your luggage in Florence. You can drop in Siena, Orvieto, or Chiusi--it depends on where you are and your car vendor. Or, drop at FCO and spend your last nite near the airport. Good luck !
