Anyone stay at these Munich hotels?
The tour we are going on in September lists the following hotels in Munich: NH at Schweig, the NH Deutscher Kaiser, the Amadeus at Neufahrn or Tryp. As we will be joining this tour in Munich, I am concerned where they are located. Does anyone know if they are all close to the airport? I do not have street address for any of them. I tried looking them up, found what I beleive to be a couple of them. When I checked with the tour company, they said they are not sure yet which one we will be at and it will be with my final itn.,two to three weeks before we leave. We will be arriving by train one or two days before our tour and would like to have an idea where these hotels are as we would like to book rooms for the days. I especially could not find the NH at Schweig. Really don't want to wait up until two weeks before we go to locate them. If I know where they are and can find them on the web, then I can quickly make our reservations. Sorry this is so long, is there anyone that can help with these locations. Thanks

Lallie,
I don't understand what you mean by NH? I am also not familiar with Schweig. Do you mean Schwabing?
Here is a link to the Munich Tourist Bureau that list just about all of the hotels in Munich by area:

Hope this helps.

Well, there is a area way out near the airport called Schwaig with a hotel called Nh Munich Airport--maybe that's it. NH is a Spanish-headquartered chain.
There's a suburb called Neufahrn between Munich and the airport--still pretty far out there, probably 15 miles or so. That must be where the Amadeus is.
There is a Deutscher Kaiser not far from the Munich train station--probably the same one. Here's a couple of customer reviews http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...h_Bavaria.html

Thanks to those of you who replied. Curious - I didn't understand NH either, but that's what the travel company listed. They also listed Schweig, RufusTFirefly. I had checked wth a gal I know from Germany and she hadn't heard of it either.
I'm checking out the web-sites listed. Thanks for your help. Thanks Underhill for topping this for me. Lallie

I recetly stayed at the Hilton near RosenheimerPlatz and directly above the train station. I thought it was exceptionally well located to one of the best rail systems I have experienced. What was even better, I checked the Hilton web site and locked in a rate of 99E for a King room on the 4th floor overlooking the streetscape. The espresso coffee shop is very good - Illy cafe and the walk into the centre of Munich across the river is only 10-15 mins and quite scenic. The breakfast buffet was among the best I have had. Maybe it does not have the old world charm of other central offerings but you can experience much of the old world charm by visiting some of the well known bars, institutions and restaurants there. I enjoyed the Spatenhaus Restaurant directly opposite The Residence.

For what it is worth, another vote for the Hilton Munich City as mentioned immediately above.
It has plenty of "charm" which to me means, decent air conditioning, well-located to public transport, great beds with nice bathrooms, and that wonderful buffet breakfast.
Oh, and yes, it is staffed and run by Germans.
