Anyone ridden RER from CDG lately?
Once again I posted this on the US forum because that's what my default seems to go to, sorry. I'll be in Paris in a few weeks and have always ridden the RER into Paris. The last couple of times I have been a bit apprehensive, but it could just be my own anxiety. Since the banlieu "unrest" has it been ok on the RER ride into Chatelet? It really is convenient for us and a good price, which is important.

The RER from CDG is just fine. I rode it in the middle of the unrest and again in January. It's safe and fine, but if you REALLY want to overkill on the safety side, then take the express tain and not the one that makes all of the intermediate stops along the way to the city. Have a great trip!

I am pretty sure if anything was not in order/dangerous/ the French authorities would either police the train or stop the route.
What you should be on the alert for is muggings (probably during late evening hours) I was warned by my taxi driver.

I am pretty alert to my personal safety on public transit anywhere. It can be a challenge sometimes to juggle luggage etc. on the RER and metro. I travel light (1 carryon suitcase)and during the day carry as little as possible with me. Thanks.
