I wear the open summer shoes all summer long! They are everywhere and cost about $50-the ones with the black elastic strap across the foot and sort of high thick sole.
Most comfortable shoes!!!

Caroline, those are also my favorite - have been wearing them for 4 years now.

However, this will be for fall footwear, and likely some rain.

Those flip flops will be going with me though...

Don't they make some sort of thick soled loafer that would be great for casual walking?
I think Dansko makes extremely comfortable shoes and wear them all the time. Have you ever worn them?

Just bought some Josef Seibel shoes from Nordstrom Rack for about $60 today. Super comfy, light, soft black leather, relatively cute AND my orthotics fit in them. They're sort of somewhere between a loafer and a short boot.

For those looking for the perfect shoes, I spent forever looking (Mephisto, Ecco, etc.) What I really needed was to visit a podiatrist. I shelled out the $400 for orthotics to help my heels/arches. I think I was too proud and felt too young (30) to have to visit the foot doctor. It was an expensive purchase, but it's made recent Euro adventures much more comfortable.
