Matatie;

Good to hear about other solo travelers! I will be in Nice Oct 8-12, and Paris Oct 12-21. If you are in Paris during this time a GTG would be great!

I lived in France for a while and would highly recommend visiting the south of France, especially Toulouse. It's a gorgeous city with cobblestone streets, about 2 hours east of Bordeaux. It's a metropolitan city with lots of charm where you would really experience France. I recommend it to all my friends. I loved living there for a year.

EXCITED++++++++++++++++++++++++!!!!!!!!
Paris is our final stop(Oct20-23), after arriving in Venice Sept 29 for 4 nights, 2 week Venice-Barcelona cruise, then flying to London for 3 nights before Paris.
After 15 months of planning, I can't believe it's in 6 weeks!!!

Yes, robjame, I am!! I was just thinking it might be time to do a priceline for our hotel in PHL. We are staying there the night before our flight to CDG.

We have had so many delays from PIT lately that we don't want to take a chance, so we are giving ourselves 24 hours to get to PHL!

Just found out that I will be going to Paris (arriving Sept 26 - departing Sept 30) to help plan a friends b'day party. Very excited because the last time I was in Paris (and my first time) was in 1989 - yeehaw! Will be staying at the Home Latin Hotel (Latin Quarter) since practically everything else was booked due to the Rugby mania. Would look forward to meeting up with anyone should the timing work out!

We arrive in Paris on September 12 and are staying in the Truffaut apartment in Batignolles for a week, then spending a week with friends for the Merce festival in Barcelona.
We return to Paris on 9/25 to stay at another apartment, this one a splurge as it is on Ile St. Louis. How lucky we are!
We return to the SF Bay Area on 10/10.

Will be in Paris from Nov. 5-11. While I have been there twice before, this will be my first time going it solo. I can't wait. Just the thought of not having to run plans by someone else is so liberating. What's kind of funny is that my biggest fear is getting from CDG to the apartment I rented. How crazy is that!!!!

If any of you are in Paris the same time, care to run into each other?

jetsetterwannabe,

I will be making my second trip to Paris Nov 1st-8th. The apartment I have rented is in the 2nd, and I am up for GTG. Whether it is for lunch, a drink, or sightseeing count me in.

Feel free to email me at tomsneed6025 at yahoo dot com. I have done GTGs in both Rome and Florence and had a great time meeting fellow Fodorites.

marisylvia, I'll be in the Truffaut apartment too -- from October 3 - 17. I a little concerned about the distance to the metro, but I am sure it will work out.

Have fun!

We will arrive at CDG on the 22nd, VERY early. A few days in Paris, then renting a car and making our way to St. Remy. Have a reservation for one night in Lyon, leaving me two (as yet) unaccounted for nights. THinking of staying in Lyon for more nights, but wanted to stop between Lyon & Paris to see what's in the middle. A week at a gite in St. Remy, with day trips to the surrounding areas. Want to see Marseilles, Avignon, perhaps Cannes, etc.

My husband's first trip ever out of the US, my second (I was in Israel last spring). I am brushing up on my French vocab and trying to remember all the French infinitives I learned to conjugate too many years ago.

We are thrilled about this 2-week vacation!

Me again. Anyone stayed in either Beaune or Dijon? If so, which did you prefer? Can you recommend an inn or other place to stay? Thanks!

I was in Disleyland in November 2003 and I bought a 1 day/2 parcs ticket for 45 euros. Now, I have visited www.disneylandparis.com and there is no such offer-there is onlu 1 day/1 parc ticket, or 2 days/2 parc hopper ticket, quite expencive (103 euros)! Can anyone tell me-is there any offer to go both in Disney Parc and in Disney Studios in one day with single ticket, and if there is such possibility, what is the price of that ticket. Thanks a lot!

We are stopping in the Chablis area this year and Dijon is on our list for next. Foe info on Dijon enter
coco
in the search box. She has an apartment for rent that gets rave reviews and you might want to consider that.
kambo - you will have better luck if you start a new thread and post your question with a suitable title

Hello all, especially first time solo travelers to Paris. I have done it many times. You can do it, yes you can! as Bob the Builder says. LOL I am a grandmother.
Had much fun at GTG in Paris X2. Such nice and interesting Fodorites. Also have done driving trips in Provence and Dordogne solo.
I will be in Paris Oct. 15 to 19 then Morocco on tour for 9 days, then back to Paris Oct. 28, leaving on the 31st.
I will be solo probably. A friend may meet me for a few days. I would love another GTG.
I am now at the stage of travel that I wander, soak it up. No to do lists or schedules. Go with the flow.
I was revisitng my France photos the other day and it gives me such joy to remember. Thanks St. Cirq for igniting my interest in the Dordogne. Such beauty.
Counting down the days. This will be my only trip to France for 2007 so it will be extra special.
See you there I hope.
