<BR>Like an early writer, I've not been to Russia since 1990, but I think this tip will still apply....take granola bars, raisins, other packable/nonperishable snacks. You won't be able to get quick pick me ups when you want/need them in Russia. Juice in boxes is good, too, although heavy. You eat the food over there and then that frees up packing space for the things you will buy there. Oh how I wish I were going with you!

Also, in St. P, go to the cemetary where all the famous writers and composers are buried (but then I am a big fan of cemetaries). It is a beautiful, interesting place. Also, be sure to go on a subway in either or both cities, at least once. They are amazing.
