Any info on this Lodgis Paris apt?
Hello,
I'm considering renting this apartment from Lodgis. Would like to know if anyone is familiar with it or the area it is located in. It is incredibly inexpensive, only $108/night (including agency fee), so I'm thinking there must be something wrong with it or the area. Or I'm just overly paranoid--this is my first trip to Paris, and I will be alone for half of the two-week trip. Any info/help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are lots of vacation rentals in Paris but I think www.way2stay.com is better and stress-free, have a look at their Yin Yang apartment which is 135 Euro a night. its japanese screens and decor are amazing and its near the Sacre-Coeur.

Thanks for the referral to way2stay. Unfortunately, since I have procrastinated in beginning my search, not a lot is available for my dates, May 3-16, 2007. Just two apts., both of which are way out of my price range. Still hoping to get someones take on the apartment from Lodgis.

The location looks just fine. Convenient to buses and metro. Apartment looks very small - you are probably seeing all in photos. Kitchen looks nicely equipped.
If you do stay there, be sure to check out the Clown Bar, La Fontaine Gourmand, Epices et Delices, Astier Bistro, Cafe Charbonne, Bistro du Peintre, all within a ten minute walk. Also Le Pamphlet (if it has reopened).

deb,
I think the apt. looks good. Small but has everything you need.
My husband and I just returned from Paris and rented this place
http://www.parisrendezvous.com/
then click on Rivoli.
It was very small but we managed quite well and would return so do not worry about it being small.

Thanks for the encouraging words and the recommendations. I figured the apartment was small, but it's a palace compared to the place I stayed in London a few years ago, so I'm not concerned about that. It's more the uncertainty of who I will be dealing with in Paris and paying for the apt. upfront. And Lodgis is not responding to my requests for a reservation confirmation and rental contract. I just keep repeating "Leap and the net will appear."
