Any Good Farces Playing in London?

I don't care much for musicals, and while I'll attend a "serious" play without too much regret, my favorites on the London stage when I lived there were the farces. I recall the brilliant "Run For Your Wife" and the immortal "When Did You Last See Your Trousers."

Anything in that vein playing these days?

I don't vouch for any of these myself, not being much of a playgoer, but here's the list:

Paul in London: Theatre: The Walworth Farce

I wasn't that keen on The Walworth Farce after I saw it on Thursday evening. Maybe it was that after seeing Changeling at the cinemas already I had seen ...

Thanks --

Doesn't seem to be exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe they've gone out of style. They were silly, but usually had the audience roaring. It was sort of like taking the best lines from three seasons of a good tv comedy, then compressing them into one two-hour episode.

It's not really a farce but you might like Billy Liar soon at the Greenwich Theatre. Calendar girls is also starting a run soon, not a farce, but the film was certainly funny. Defending the Caveman is also supposed to be a hoot. There's plenty of comedies and light-hearted plays around just not the trad. farce style.

I can't stand farces myself so good riddance! (sorry)

Enjoy - Alan Bennet comedies are great.

Stones in His Pockets also an award winning comedy on this year.

Alas, Boeing, Boeing has closed -- the most recent (I think) of the well done farces. And just two years ago I saw a great production in London of Donkey's Years with a great cast. Run For Your Wife remains a classic, along with Don't Dress for Dinner. I don't think farces are necessarily "out of style" -- just a shortage of them right now. And granted, they aren't everyone's cup of tea.
