Any experiences on Continental Transatlantic
I'm flying Continental (coach) from Houston to Rome in a few weeks. This is the first time that I have every flown Continental. Anything particular to look out for? Are they typically on time? Normal sardine seats? etc?

We flew Newark to Rome and back from Milan on Continental they partner with Alitalia airlines, found them pretty good, on time, no problems. We've flown British Air, SAS and United overseas. The planes were new and very nice and clean, food typical airline fare.

Gail, we flew to and from Newark, a major Continental hub.
I can assure that both planes were new when we flew in May! So, they would not have been in service last year.
I'm surprised you called your trip with Continental a fiasco. I have always found Continental personnel--from initial booking on--to be most helpful, friendly and courteous at all times, both on the phone and in person.

We flew Continental last month from Newark to Paris. The flights were on time (except leaving CDG due to a bomb scare, but that's another story), the planes were new (with those individualized movie/TV/video game screens, service was fine. My only complaint was that the food was horrific -- unidentifiable. I'd look into ordering a special meal.
