I don't know your restaurants.
One good place one block from the Orsay museum is Le Telegraphe, 41 rue de Lille. Closed Sat evening and Sunday.

Everytime we are in Paris, we go to the D'Orsay and we have lunch in the Museum restaurant. It is so beautiful, the food is always good and the service is lovely. It is hard not to sit there for hours
I am not sure about Le Copains, sounds familiar but that could be because of the fashion name

We always do a great deal of research on restaurants before we visit Paris but I can't recall that I have heard of any of the ones listed. Did you try a search on this forum, entering the name of the restaurant in the search box? You may get some comments that way.

Scarlett, how many times have you been to Paris? When was your last trip there?

I am new here and am planning a family trip, hopefully next summer. It is a first trip to Paris for my kids. You sound like you really know your stuff! Sounds like you've been there dozens of times.

You'll know they are Fodorites because they will still be arguing among themselves about how to help that poor 65 y.o. woman who is still trying to get money out of the ATM!

Scarlett, when was your last trip? Dozens, really? I was joking. You are very lucky. Most people barely get there once. (that would be me).

I hear the bigger cities in Europe change all the time, is this true? (hotels and restaurants mostly I guess).

you addressed your question to Scarlett, but I'll chime in. Cities change a lot and yet they remain the same (just like the old French adage)
I haven't been to Paris dozens of times unfortunately, but am about to go for either my 9th or 10th time, I'm happy to say I've lost track. In any city you will find a new hotel, or the drugstore you knew has closed, or the restaurant has changed from a French Bistro to a Fusion-Hungarian cafe, or the Mona Lisa has been moved to a different room, but the streets generally have the same familiar feeling, the monuments are just where you left them the last time you were there, and the art in the museums still thrills.

You mentioned a trip for next summer. If you were thinking of going in August, you might want to just be aware that August is vacation month for the French. You will many places closed for the month.

Regardless of when you go, you also might want to be aware the the majority of restaurants are closed on Sunday. Finding a spot for Sunday night dinner might require some advance planning.

The restaurant at the Musée d'Orsay IS lovely.

I haven't eaten at any of the other ones mentioned, but I'd be interested in the one called Lou Cantou, as that's an Occitan name, and it might feature some of my favorite SW french dishes.

I'm also curious how you came up with this list, raymond. It IS interesting to see new restaurant names on this board, because some of the Paris mavens, myself included, seem to gravitate to the same couple of dozen restaurants over and over. New names are always good!
