Any Bernkastel Experts out There?
I was wondering how to get to the Burg Landshut around 5 pm in the afternoon during the 1st week in September. I understand there's a little bus that leaves every hour, but one site I saw gave the last bus as 5 PM and another gave it as 6 PM. Also, is there any other way to get back down to Bernkastel other than a long hike down? I would like to go up there, but have very limited time, as I'm on a river cruise.

Did you ask the tourist office there?
Tourist Office Address
Mosel-Gäste-Zentrum
Gestade 6
54470 Bernkastel-Kues
Tel.: +49 (0) 65 31 - 50 01 90
Fax: +49 (0) 65 31 - 50 01 919
Website: bernkastel.de
Email: [email protected]
I spent a night there years and years ago and have avery vague memory of the town. Slept at the youth hostel by the castle up on the hill and I think I walked the both ways up and down, no help to your question.

We were in Bernkastel a couple of years ago, but we drove up to the Burg Landshut parking lot. From there it was still a fairly steep walk up to the ruin as I remember.
I agree that you should contact the Tourist Information Office.
I think you will really enjoy Bernkastel-Kues. It was definitely one of our favorites.
