As we get ready for our trip, one last question ... We are thinking of just purchasing our train tickets at the Munich airport for our trip to Ansbach. If we do this, are we able to get the Savings Fare (that we see on the DB Bahn website) or is this savings fare only available if you purchase online, ahead of time?
Thank you so much!

The Sparpreis is only available ahead of time. You can buy it now and print out your ticket. Just remember that a Sparpreis fare is only good for that particular schedule you book, where a full-fare ticket is good all day for that route.
I hope that is clear.

Hi Sparkchaser,
Yes, makes complete sense .. I was thinking along those lines but wanted to make sure. Thank you for your help!
We are going to do a day trip to Rothenburg from Ansbach using the VGN - from what I read, the train station is outside of Rothenburg, but I wasn't able to find Rothenburg on the VGN site, just Dinkelsbühl. Any advice on this train trip?
Thank you again for your help!

Excellent.
I live near Nürnberg so if you want to meet up for beers or something, I think I can make that work. Email me at [email protected]
