Have you ever visited the Anne Frankhuis (Anne Frankhaus, Anne Frank House)in Amsterdam, the Netherlands? If you have, I would like to hear of your experiences and your thoughts. You do not have to leave your name. Thank you very much.

We visited the Anne Frank house last year while in Amsterdam and found it very moving. The tour was excellent and it was remarkable how much of the house remains in the same condition as when deserted including Anne's movie star photos still on the wall. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend a visit.

I have been there twice, so far, I hope to go again and take my kids. As far as I'm concerned it's a must see. Though the house and the attic were not as I perceived them I was especially moved by the "collection" afterwards. It is something so moving it is indescribable. This place will move you and stay with you for a very long time. Please go.

Ditto to the other responses! It is a must when in Amsterdam. The house is almost chilling when one realizes the history that occurred there-and it's moving to all who enter. I hope one day to take my teenagers there! Also, eat at the Pancake Bakery about 2 blocks away!!

I agree...the Anne Frank House was a very moving experience..we went first thing in the morning while in Amsterdam last January..there were no lines. The clerk in the gift shop at our hotel said earlier in the week in the afternoon the line was VERY long..so plan to go early!

I went to Anne Frank's House as a young child nearly
30 years ago and still remeber it clearly. At that time I had not read her story and promptly went to the library when we got home to get the book. It is a must for any trip to Amsterdam and a must for all children so they know what happened so it won't happen again.

I can only echo what the previous writers have said. No trip to Amsterdam weould be complete without visiting Anne Frankhuis. By the way, it's in a nice neighborhood with some good cafes and hotels nearby (the American-owned Canal House is a great place to stay at a relatively moderate price, and one brown cafe in particular was memorable for the crowds and the food - "T'Kalfje" - it's on a sidestreet near the Prinzengracht, just ask for directions.

Amen! I cried and cried. It is just as it was left after the family left and it was cleared out. Yes, some of Anne's pictures are still stuck to
the wall. It is a MUST SEE. There is a good bookstore as you leave. It was good to discover that the movie with Shelley Winters did an amazing job of recreating the place. Shelley's Oscar for
that movie is on display there. The coffee house right next door is nice.

Be prepared to cry. This is a chilling experience you will never forget. This is not a set from Univerasal Studios, or MGM, this is the real thing along with original family photos and passports with red letter J marked accross them. Very narrow steps to the attic. History comes alive in front of you.
