Andalucia-Central location for villa rental

Where is the best centrally located town to explore from Granada to the Costa de la Luz?
We would like to rent a villa for a week. Are the distances just too far for this to work?
Thanks Shelley

You have several choices beginning with the western part of Andalucia and working your way east:

Huelva

Jerez

Sevilla

Ronda (a favorite base to work from)

You can check out the following site for rentals in the area: http://www.selectspain.com/

Robert,Thank you for the information. Maybe you could help me out some more.Or anyone else please!
We have two weeks in Spain 16-31 Aug. We fly into and out of Madrid...using miles, no choice.

We were thinking daytrips to Segovia and Toledo, 16 and 11 yr. olds want to see some castles. We are not huge fans of spending long days in art museums. We enjoy taking in the culture, seeing the major sights, but we really enjoy just exploring the cities on foot .

From there we will train to Cordoba for a day then onto Seville. How many days would we need to explore Seville?

From Seville we are looking to rent a villa to use as a base for a week. I cannot find a villa that will rent midweek to midweek so should we head straight to Seville from Madrid via Cordoba then villa for a week over to Granada for a couple days and back to Madrid for the trip home? Please help with logistics.

Andalucia in mid-August? The first thing you need to do understand is that it will be rather warm wherever you venture in Andalucia. You've outlined a great Spring or Fall trip, but at this time of the year temperatures can break 100 degrees F everyday and never cool down at night. Segovia and Toledo should be tolerable in a room with air-conditioning, but Cordoba will be just plain hot. You would be best off heading for the coast. The Basque coast in the north, or even the Costa del Sol if the desert winds aren’t blowing in off the Sahara.

Green Spain would be my first choice during this time of the year.

Hi. In July we are renting a place in Casares which is one of the white villages near Ronda. We are prepared to make lots of day trips. One day further away, the next day closer to home. We also will be traveling with children. Be sure the place you rent has a POOL. This has always been a summer lifesave for us and the kids. Also, most rentals are Saturday to Saturday so you really might have to rearrange your plans a bit. Feel to ask more questions.
