I like Venice' Via Garibaldi - a real street! With all these usual caffes, gelato shops, kids playing - seems about as real a place in Venice as any - walk along it towards eastern tip of Venice -nearly no tourists and some normal neighborhoods few tourists venture to.

mmm - I like it too, Pal. We discovered it the time we took the kids to Venice and got off the boat back from Murano at the Giardino stop. It's quite a way from where I'll be staying though and something I like to do when I stay in a new neighbourhood is to get to know it as well as I can. So there may not be time for me to get over there on this visit.
