Amsterdam train arrival help needed!

We'll be arriving by train via Paris and staying at the Hilton. Would ita make sense to detrain at the airport and taxi to hotel, or go to Centraal Station and go from there? Thanks for any help!

If you're taking the train from Paris, aren't you going to arrive via the Central Station? In either case it would be much less expensive to stay on the train to Central Station. Its an easy train station to navigate and once you are out the main entrance there will be taxis, buses and trams to take you to the Hilton.

Betsy, thanks for your input. Somehow I got the impression that the train stops first at the airport then onto Centraal Station.

Andrea, you are right. From Paris, the train stops first at Schiphol Airport and then Centraal Station. Taxi from Centraal Station is going to be cheaper than from Schiphol.

It is true that a taxi will be much cheaper from Central Station than from the airport-- however, you may want to check if the hilton offers free shuttle transport from Schiphol. If that is the case, I would take that option!

Enjoy Amsterdam!
