Amsterdam INFO
I will be in Amsterdam in the first week in July of this year. Is 1.5 day enough to see the city well or I should allocate 2.5 days? Also, what areas are best to stay for easy access to most sites; Station, Ann Frank House, Leidseplein area, or Vondelpark.
Does any one has suggestion for a charming and comfortable hotel or B&B within $100 american?
Any info will be greatly appriciated.

Andrea
Of them all, I wouldn't pick the Vondelpark are because you'll spend the most of your limited time going elsewhere to see things.

As for length of stay -- that's up to you. You can go for 1.5 days, but chances are you'll want/need to come back on another trip to see more.

Can you play it by ear? Can you decide when you get there how long you want to stay, or do your plans need to be concrete?

That said, if you're planning to go on a weekend, you don't have as much flexibility because Amsterdam hotels seem to book solid in advance for Summer weekends.

I would definetly recommend staying for 2.5 days instead of 1.5. I stayed in a clean three-star hotel located in the Leidseplein area. The hotel was called the Prinsen Hotel. They have a good location, clean rooms, breakfast included, and helpful staff.
