Amsterdam hotel question
Do upper-end Amsterdam hotel prices generally NOT include breakfast? I'm having a difficult time justifying an additional $20-$25 per person for breakfast on top of very high room rates when everyplace else we've stayed in Europe, breakfast is included.
Hotel suggestions welcome! I'm currently booked at Etherea, but the trip is several months away.
Thanks!

I stayed at the Estherea two years ago. Their breakfast is quite bountiful - bacon, sausage eggs; cereal, yogurt, pastries; salad and sandwiches; etc. You don't have to decide until you get there. Why not see how hungry you are in the morning, check out what's on offer, and then decide if you want to spring for that or go around the corner for a coffee and pastry at a fraction of the price?
BTW, it's pronounced ester-AY-ah. Lovely hotel. Great location.

You can often get breakfast included at higher-end hotels if you use a consolidator booking site. For example. www.gtahotels.com and www.hotelbooking.com and www.octopustravel.com . Check www.hotelscombined.com for more possible consolidator sites.
For a 4* hotel, I'd expect the added breakfast price to be about 25 Euros per person. For a 3* hotel, 15-17 Euros is typical.
Most likely, the breakfast will be excellent, and you could easily skip lunch if you ate it, but that may be good or bad.
