If I spend one night in salisbury to see stonehenge is there another place near there worth seeing?>
And on the edge of Salisbury Old Sarum is a neat site too -(especially if you read the famous book by Edward Rutheford "Sarum"):

And leave time for Salisbury the city - I loved walking south of town just a tad for the famous vista of Salisbury Cathedral looming over bucolic meadows that Constaable and others put on now famous canvasses:

Where did you get the idea that Bath and York are similar?
