Amsterdam Dance Event

Hello all,
I am going to be traveling to Amsterdam in the third week of Oct. and uncovered that there is a huge music event that takes place called Amsterdam Dance Event . I was wondering if anyone has been to this before or been to Amsterdam when this event has been happening .... basically i wanted to know if the city very crowded during this event and if so where are the best places to go...
thanks
E

The event takes place from 21 to 24 October, and is spread over various venues in the city. Mostly clubs, discos and music venues, plus the FOAM as far as I can gather. There are over 700 DJs and acts taking part. I would imagine it will be busy, but I have no idea how busy I will get. Maybe no worse than it is in the spring as far as tourist numbers go. And during the day probably pretty quiet as the revellers get over the night before.
Do you have somewhere to stay already booked? If you are interested in going to any of the events then the schedule will be announced on August 1st. http://www.amsterdam-dance-event.nl

Element, no it's not my thing I'm afraid -I'm too old for it. My neighbour is a young DJ and he goes, but he's away working as a DJ all summer so I'm afraid I can't ask him what it's like.

Sorry I can't help you there - I live too close to Amsterdam to ever spend the night there. Have a search through the posts on here there though as are plenty of places mentioned in all price ranges. or try the Thorntree forum - which is aimed at a young audience I believe.
