Hi Deborah! It was so nice to meet you and your husband, and hetismij, in Amsterdam. B.J., Roger & I had a great time at our GTG, talking about travel and sharing stories and information.

Thanks for posting your trip report. I'm glad you enjoyed Amsterdam, even in the rain. Someday, when you return to this beautiful city, you must go in the spring, when the tulips are in bloom. You could do a bike ride through the tulip fields.

So nice of you to share, we were there from 10/11-10/14 and couldn't agree more with you except you said it 5 times better than I can!

Robyn, welcome back. The GTG was an added bonus to our Amsterdam adventure; thank you for suggesting it. I hope BJ, Roger and you were not effected by the rail disruptions I saw in the news while we all were in France. Can't wait to find out about your trip!!

Shanghainese, wasn't Amsterdam a city full of delights?? I certainly would like to read about what you did while you were there.

The GTG was at the Cafe de Vergulde Gaper at Prinsenstraat 30. hetismij suggested this location, and it turned out to be perfect for our GTG - good location, nice lunch menu, and beer.

Deborah - We got back in country on October 22nd, and within 3 days I came down with the H1N1 flu. Luckily, I was eligible for the testing and treatment (Tamiflu) so I'm feeling better again, and am finally back at work, after missing four weeks (3 on vacation, 1 sick). I hope to start working on my trip report this weekend. We had a great time, and weren't affected by the rail strikes in France.

Did you report on the France part of your trip?

Robyn, I'm sorry you were ill but glad it held off until you were home.

Our trip to France was on the quiet side being there in off season; the only real excitement came when Ron set his menu on fire at a Lille restaurant

Looking forward to reading about all your adventures. Deborah
