As a Christian, I think that's a pretty arrogant attitude to have. God might have a little lesson in humility waiting for this couple!
I've never watched any of the Amazing Races - I think I might start. Too bad I missed the 1st one. This sounds exciting!!

i don't mean to be negative, but...is it my imagination or did cbs cut down on the scenery photography from earlier shows and work in more reality dramatics??? i was thinking back to the adventures in india last year.... i know i will keep watching, but was a tad disappointed in episode 1..

Beatchick,
There is a rebroadcast of the first (last night's) episode on Saturday night. I believe it is listed somewhere above, if not, you can check out www.cbs.com.

I really hated to see that cute couple get eliminated - they were so nice and he reminded me of my son. Maybe they were TOO nice and not as interesting/controversial as some of the others I guess. Right now I am rooting for the father/daughter, older dating couple and the bowling Moms.

I've been addicted from the first AR, and find that it's difficult to determine much of what lies ahead from the 1st episode.
As far as having resources - maps, phones, books, etc. -they're not allowed. All bags are checked before starting out to be certain no one is hiding something, whatever that might be. All start on an equal footing.
As to the scenery - there too, it changes with each episodes and countries and lots of other stuff. Sure they provide plenty of people bickering, cursing, hating/loving one another throughout - it's all very fluid and one just never knows what each week will hold for the viewers.
Re the Christian couple - they aren't the first. Recall a previous AR with Christian couple where there was also a gay couple and at dinner one night the gay couple "kind of" came out to the others in the group as if the others didn't know (and who really cares) - but the guys committed to one another and planned to marry when they returned home. Well, you could have picked the Christian couple off the floor; the look on their face, but they pulled it off quite well. But it might just be that when it comes to a $1M, God might have to get out of the way.
We're all just going to have to continue watching and see what happens. As to the Saturday nite repeat of Tuesday's episode, they did the same thing previously, but don't recall if it was only the first show or all of them in that series. There certainly is room to slide a repeat in, especially during the summer when it's "rerun heaven."

Too bad the father/daughter team was eliminated. I see no one has posted here for awhile.
Wasn't New Zealand gorgeous tonight? The season-finale is next week. Go Chip and Kim, or even bowling moms for that matter. What an awesome travel show! I think this has been the best AR yet.

CiCi - No one has posted because Fodor's removed the thread. They do that sometimes when not thrilled with what is said or the direction a thread might be heading.
People on most of the boards have run into this problem also. The threads just wet "bye bye" - Hey, it's Fodor's board they can do as they please.
And the A/R is definitely about "travel" - travel everywhere, and it sure gives people ideas of just how many amazing places there are out there to visit. Places many probably never gave a thought to.
Let's hope we can keep this thread going till the last show. Next Tuesday, a 2-hr conclusion. Let's go Chip and Kim or the Mom's, though they do snap at one another more often as it gets closer to there being a winner.

While it is true that there has been a problem with someone over zealous at Fodors removing some of the Amazing Race threads, the AR discussion are almost all over on the United States board. There are 10 messages already discussing last nights show.

Yes, the good guys did finish first!
I'm so glad Chip and Kim won! Chip was always so nice to his wife and the other teams, even when things got stressful. I was kind of hoping the Moms would get 2nd place. They had alot of spunk!
