IMO, your plan is shaping up!
For your day along the Amalfi Coast, I would make Atrani a low priority. In fact, if you have the time, I'd roam a bit of Salerno rather than Atrani, but that's just me, and I would definitely make Ravello and Amalfi the higher priorities. And I'd put Ravello second, because I believe that some of the glorious gardens there are open later than cathedral in Amalfi -- you might want to check that.
If it helps you plan, I spent about 6 hours at Pompeii. I could have used more time, but it was a hot day, and I felt ready to get out of the heat.
I don't know whether you have time for Ischia or not, but I can say that Naples has an incredible array of gems which you would have to forego if you decide to try to make it to Ischia.
Hope that helps!

May I come into this thread?
I'm flying into Rome on April 5th. I would like to have someone pick me up at the airport and then on to the Amalfi Coast. I'll be by myself. While I'm not a timid traveler I will be tired from the long flight from Florida. I will have four days as I have to be back in Rome to meet my niece. Any ideas on group or private tours? Since I'll be alone I wouldn't mind a small tour in a van--no buses for me! I want to be practical on cost. I guess I could get a train out of Rome and then hook up with a guide in Sorrento or somewhere. But the idea of not having to hassle is important to me too. Ideas welcome!

Yes, if you do plan for Amalfi, make Sorrento or Salerno your base. We visited Mt.Vesuvius and Pompie from Naples. But you need lots of time to do these. From Naples we went to Sorrento. It’s again a beautiful place. Can easily do a day trip to Positano from there.
