Alpe di Siusi in September without hiking boots

I want to visit Alpe di Siusi in September without having to take or use hiking boots.

Besides Compatsch and Saltria and taking lifts originating from these villages, are there other things I can do without using hiking boots?

We saw a number of people on the trail up to Bolzanohütte wearing running shoes, not hiking boots. I even saw one guy hiking in Teva-type sandals, but definitely don't recommend that.

Once you leave the rolling meadows, the trails can be rocky, but I don't think hiking boots are a necessity. There is very little chance of snow in September.

There is also great cycling there, although we didn't have a chance to rent bikes and try it.

Hi,
We went to the Alpe di Siusi 2 years ago mid October. Absolutely wonderful! We took the Mont Seuc cable car from Ortisei (it runs till mid/end October). Many walks/hikes starting from here.

Hi Greg - Besides hiking and mountain biking, how about paragliding?
