I've been on so many trips this year (hooray for me!), that I missed Stu's passing. Discovered yesterday when responding to a South of France thread and the OP mentioned it. Geez, such sad news, especially considering how relatively young he was.
While I've been to the South of France many times, I have still used Stu's valuable guide information.
Anyway, to keep this thread going (I had to search his name), as an old time poster, and remembering how to pray for the leg, TTT.

Oh I am so sad to hear that Stu passed away.
Coincidentally, he lived around the corner from where all three of my children were born and raised before we moved to Southern California. He was instrumental in me landing on Aix-en Provence for our first long stay.
Boy did he love traveling with Ellen! Truly an inspiration!

tomboy, thank you for collecting Stu Dudley's reports. I am working on a trip now and I thought I would check his posts. I am so sorry to hear of his passing - what a gift that his reports will continue to help travelers.
I used Stu's Normandy and Brittany reports and they were an inspiration. Unfortunately, some of the references to restaurants and hotels are out of date, which is to be expected, but just beware if you are using his information.

Thank you, Carol, for your note of appreciation. It was well worth the effort putting it together, that others could find Stu's wisdom with greater facility.Originally Posted by carolv
