Alex Roy's Europe by car

It seems like there's a few companies being called Europe by car, but I found this link on rick steve's website http://www.europebycarblog.com/

Originally I was going to use economy car rentals as it was the cheapest I could find http://www.economycarrentals.com/

Originally I was going to rent the vehicle for 5 days, but it appears Europe by car cost the same for 7 days. I'm not sure if anybody has used them before?

If it matters, I'm picking up at zagreb and dropping off at split airport.

Check the rental conditions. I always found EconomyCarRentals the cheapest with no deductible, also known as "excess". However, if you can carry the CDW on your credit card, then other rental brokers are often cheaper.

Their FAQs say this
What is the deductible for the CDW and/or TP?
There is no CDW or TP deductible under the PEUGEOT OPEN EUROPE and RENAULT EURODRIVE program.

Fine if the FAQ is referring to rentals. But from your quote, it looks like it is referring to the lease program that is offered by Peugeot and Renault. BTW, have you tried to see if the EconomyCarRentals cost goes down for a 7 day rental because a week is cheaper than a daily rental times 5?

When I first found out about economy car rentals, the prices were drastically lower than any other place by almost 100 dollars. I almost booked with them, until I looked at the time and found out that unlike in the USA that in Europe if you pick it up at 1200 you have to drop it off by 1200 with no more than 59 minutes or you'll be charged an extra day. So when I was looking around, I thought I'd check the prices at Europe by car just to see.

Alex Roy's Europe by car only appears to offer 7 days minimum though, but here are the prices I found:

economycarrentals 5 days -> USD $193.74
economycarrentals 7 days -> USD $235.04
Europe By car 7 days -> USD $195

I just noticed that Europe by car says 7 days in crotia in 219, but if I select the "GM Opel Corsa 2 Door A/C" it's when it drops it to $195 dollars.

I just selected the vehicle with the best gas mileage and what I would assume to be the smallest/least expensive. I noticed if you select the default that the price is $219

Don't all visa credit cards give you at least basic insurance coverage? http://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/b..._personal.html

I was going through their registration to see if I added the vehicle if the price would change. Their faqs says most places don't charge for drop off at another location as long as it's the same country.

Well one thing I didn't like is their registration that asks for all my person info, address, email address, date of birth and password isn't being encrypted. The data is being passed in clear text. It's not using SSL (HTTPS), which is extremely shocking to have such poor security.

I did see this on their site

Place a booking for Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia or The Czech Republic by the 31st of December 2010 and recieve a 5% discount!!
Call or book on-line!

I called them about their 5% off and after they added on every fee and taxes they could, it was higher than economy car rentals. Even though their website implied it was the final price on the phone that wasn't the case.

so at the end i decided to book with at economy car rentals
