Does anyone know if the Alcazar in Toledo is still closed for renovations? I've tried surfing but I have not found out anything yet. I'm hoping its complete (or will be very very soon!) because we leave November 1 and I would love to see it since we've now included Toledo in our plans.

I was in Toledo in August and the Alcazar was still closed. There was a notice at the gate announcing that the new Army Museum is due to open in 2008.

There is some relevant information in the latest update to Maribel's Guide to Madrid concerning the Alcazar and other museums in Toledo.

Reiterate what Alec has posted above. It is due for reopening in 2008. We were there in Sept, and large scale construction was in progress. But cheer up, it still looks fabulous from outside.

The Alcazar in Segovia is open and beautiful. Nice town with a amazing Aqueduct if you have time to visit.
