Alberobello
Hi all,
In researching what to do in Italy I came across some information about the Trulli zones in Alberobello.
The Trulli zones look fantastic and I'd love to visit! Is it worth the visit?
but i dont know how to go about doing it-
will I be able to take a day trip to Alberobello?
and where will I be able to do this from?
I will be staying in Venice, Florence, Naples and Rome
Please forgive my ignorance, your advice would be greatly appreciated

Alberobello and the surrounding towns of the Itria Valley are marvelous. But it is much too far for a daytrip from any of the cities you list. if you are taking public transport, your best option would be to begin in Naples but even then, too far for a daytrip. Closest airports are Bari and Brindisi.

Glad to be of help. You should have a remarkable time, and a full plate with those cities in your plan! Do not hestitate to return for any advice.
I know this is off-topic, but your city is among the most beautiful I've ever visited!

One popular day trip from Rome is the Umbrian town of Orvieto, about an hour by train from Rome. The catacombs just outside the city are also an easy destination. And there are the ruins at Ostia Antica. You will find lots of info on all of these on this forum; you could do a search to see what turns up. But there is so much to see in Rome itself that you may not have much time for daytrips unless your visit is a week or longer, or unless you have been several times.
