Albergo del Senato
I am finding the prices to be VERY high for this hotel. I know that I want to stay here for my honeymoon, as I stayed here many years ago and loved it! Does anyone know of discount sites at which to reserve?
Is it worth it to get a room with a view? View rooms are 340E per night and non-view rooms are 280E - still really high.
Any suggestions?

Have you ever considered an apartment?
I know as far as a honeymoon goes that may be a definate NO, but i stayed at an apartment just literally a few doors up from that hotel for a third of the price at which you are quoting.
The side of the Pantheon as massive as it is, was in our faces outside our apartment living room windows.

Saxbe,
No photos because my husband decided to go all video!
I rented through www.sleepinitaly.com and it is the Via Della Minerva apartment. They have photos but it's much better once you are in it.
Words cannot express our surprise and delight when we entered the apartment, not to mention the location!!! The view from the windows, the spaciousness of it all and clean!
The owner greeted us and let us in.She is very paticular, and wants to ensure that you enjoy it but also take care of it.The only complaint that i have ( and its minor!!) is there seemed to be no matress pad and the sheets were comming off! A minor annoyance for what we got.The bedroom is to the right when you enter so its away from the street of the Pantheon.it is a gem and quite the find.

jdgator919, have you tried sending a personal email to the Senato? Especially since you stayed there before. I don't know if it always works (and maybe I shouldn't mention it here!) but I did that, described what we wanted and our special desire to stay there, gave our budget, and they gave us a deal (I figure 75 Euro off of a 6th floor view room).

We just stayed there in off-season (late fall) and the prices weren't much better. What time of year are you going? If it is during high season, be aware that the Pantheon Square gets very crowded and may be a little "noisy" for a honeymoon. You may want to check out a romantic B&B in centro for much less $$. With the Euro/dollar rate these days, you may want to be a bit more frugal. Go on tripadvisor, romeby or other sites. Good luck.
