Airline tickets from Granada to Madrid?

It was recommended here that we fly (for around 30E), rather than take the train, back to Madrid from Granada for our flight back to the US. For people who have done that, did you buy the tickets here or after you were there? I just checked on tickets, and they are more like $200 rather than $38 (30E). What am I doing wrong?

I booked this flight in June on Iberia about a couple of weeks before the departure date for 70 euros. I'm not sure whether there are discount airlines serving this route.

We flew r.t. Madrid-Granada last February on Iberia, purchasing our tickets online at www.iberia.com.

We found a fairly decent web fare, round trip for 78 euros, by waiting to purchase those tickets 2 months out.

marty,
Currently Iberia is the only carrier flying the Granada-Madrid route. I believe they have 4-5 flights a day.

marty,
When you do check Iberia, you might be much better off to book a round trip, Granada-Madrid, Madrid-Granada, and just dropping the return. The one way fares these days are running very high, much higher than last year when Spanair was flying that route. Since Spanair dropped the route (among many destinations it has recently dropped), one way fares to and from Granada have shot up because of lack of competition.
