Airfare prices

toejam - er, nospam - is quite right. Most of those prices in the low $500 range include taxes and fees also. How low would you like to go? Sounds like you have been calling around to the airlines and have been quoted some high prices. Try orbitz or travelocity, be flexible with your dates, and see what comes up. Keep checking. Then go to individual airline's websites and look for web-specials - for instance, Luftansa (USA website) is pushing their introduction of nonstop service from NYC to Munich for something like $280 (not sure if that goes into April or includes taxes). Best of luck.

If you can complete your travel by the end of March, Czech Air has bargain fares from New York to the Czech and Slovak Republics for $493 for 2 tickets. Actually, it is buy one ticket for $493, get the companion ticket for free. Free is you have to pay the taxes on the companion ticket.

Sales ends February 28th, and departures from New York are from now through March 25th, returning to New York no later than March 31st.

I know that if you play your cards right you can get great deals into early June, they usually have sales. I am not actually leaving from NY but just gave a generic departure city. As they run sale fares throughout the US for summer travel in the March/April time frame I am wondering if anyone knows when they will run deals for Europe over the April time frame?
Unfortunately I have to fly one specific airline but I know that once one airline starts a sale all will follow.
Yes you can get 500 rt fares on Sing. air or Luft. during april but I am stuck on a US carrier and they want around $675.
I fly enough to know I can do better than that rate over April to Europe but I just don't know when they will drop the rates.
