Air Travel within Europe
Does anyone know of a website or a way to get information about prices and options for air travel between European cities after arrival? I am flying in and out of Paris, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get between cities after I begin my 2 1/2 week trip to various other destinations.

Why not make your inter European reservations before you leave? Why bother while you are on vacation? The Southwest of Europe is Ryan Air (Ryanair.com). They are dirt cheap, but they often fly to remote airports. You have to weigh convenience against cost. Of course, you should also include the extra cost of getting to your destination.

Sorry, I guess my email was a little confusing. I actually WANT to take care of my travel arrangements before I get there. I meant that I need to travel between other cities after arriving initially in Paris. I tried the opodo.com website, but they currently only have a site that's up and running in German. Ryanair.com didn't cover many of the cities I was interested in. Any other suggestions?

You did not mention what airline you are flying to Paris or what cities you wanted to fly to. Many European airlines such as Air France will offer "travel passes" (or somthing similar) at heavily discounted rates if you bought your transatlantic ticket with them. Bon voyage.

I would recommend you might consider working with two travel agencies that have both US and Parisian offices (both are French-owned, at least in part): New Frontiers (Nouvelles Frontieres in France) and Carlson-Wagonlit (yes, it is partly French owned and has good services with two offices in St-Germain, including one in the Bon Marche dept store). www.newfrontiers.com gives you their NY office (www.nouvellesfrontieres.com is general link). Carlson-Wagonlit is partly owned by French Accor and partly by a US company that owns Radisson hotels or something. I don't know if Nouvelles Frontieres does things like you want, I know they have packages and long distance charter flights, I think Carlson Wagonlit would. So you could maybe talk to folks here if you want and make arrangements to pick stuff up in Paris or at least they can probably find out if the Parisian office can help you and grease the way. That's just an idea, I haven't done it. Carlson Wagonlit is in Bon Marche and at 264 bd St-Germain (FAX 45-51-15-20). There are Nouvelles Frontieres offices all over Paris.

This website and the people who post to it continue to amaze me. Just booked airfare from Nice to Amsterdam on EasyJet for $45/person one-way. I NEVER would have found what I was looking for without the suggestions that are posted on this website. Thanks to all for your help. One XMas wish: a better search engine. It would avoid alot of the reposting of the same questions or help find the responses to your own posts. I can never get my original post to come up and have to scroll throught pages of posts to get back to my question and the replies. Has anyone else had this problem?
