agrigento questions

We're going to visit Sicily, and Agrigento/Valley of the Temples is on our list.
How much time to spend there? We're budgeting two days but could work out more.
Accommodations? We normally rent apartments thru airbnb or vrbo, but for just two nights I would consider a hotel or B&B. Budget: +/-$150/nt.

1 full day (morning - evening) should be enough.

We only had half a day which was a bit rushed but doable to see the museum and temples. A full day would be ideal.

I spent about 4.5 hours roaming the archeological site, skipping most of the Temple of Zeus, and about 1.5 or 2 hours in the museum.

If you can afford to stay in one of the hotels with a view of the temples lit against the night sky, consider doing so.

Thanks. That's been our thinking based on the feedback we've received so far.

As for hotels with a view, we are considering the Doric Bed Boutique Hotel.

Villa La Lumia is a B and B with lovely views across to the temples. We found it very comfortable and convenient. Short walk to the museum, a bit of a hike to the temple site, especially as the site itself is so large. You can walk up into town although there are nearby restaurants too. If you are driving it has good secure private parking.

If you are going at a time when the weather will be warm, you might enjoy a side trip to see the Scala dei Turchi.

That would round out your two days nicely, although I think you mean two nights? A lot of people don't like Agrigento, other than the Temples, but we enjoyed two nights there.
