My mother, sister and I are going to Italy for 8 days in May. The itinerary consists of Rome, Naples/Amalfi Coast/Capri and then to visit family in Ascoli Piceno (in Le Marche). I guess any advice would be great, but mainly on recommended lodging in Amalfi and ways to travel to and from all (train, personal drivers etc.).

Firstly, there's a gold-mine of information on this forum regarding this area.

Secondly, it all depends on your budget, if you can afford it I'd recommend Hotel Santa Caterina in Amalfi, The Grand Hotel Quisiana on Capri etcetera. As for transport, a chauffeur service in a comfortable car is always best, but once again a train may be more economical.

If you could advise budget and what you are seeking then advice offered will be more helpful.
