Advice on getting from CDG to Bruges

Hello,

We are flying in into Paris (CDG) in mid April and are thinking of going immediately from there to Bruges to spend a night or 2 - then returning to Paris.

Does anyone have advice on how to plan this? Is there a train from the airport to Bruges? And do you think this is too ambitious to do upon arrival there?

We're renting an apartment in Paris so I'm trying to save us from having to pack up to go elsewhere and then return and having to possibly go to another apartment in Paris.

Any help would be great!

We did that in 07. There is a TGV to Brussels, then many trains to Bruges.

Check on

Actually, what we did was to spend 3 hrs in Brussels (after stashing our luggage at the train station) and admire the amazing central square there.

The CDG/Bruges trains leave from the Midi station, but if you want to see the central square in Brussels, you must go to another Brussels station (very short trip). It's really a no brainer to do this.

Hi tat,

The CDG station is Roissy (95).

You can also take the train to Lille Europe or Lille Flandres and change for Bruges.

This is usually cheaper than the train via Brussels.

On the German site, I think the only trains that have only 1 train change go through Brussels. The others have 2 to 3 train changes.
There is a 5:40 RER that goes into Paris Nord & then a Thalys that leaves from Paris Nord directly to Bruges, but it gets in at 9:00pm.

Are you plane tickets set already? If not, can you switch to fly into Brussels instead, and fly out from Paris?

What time does your flight arrive at CDG?
