Advice needed - need to wire money from US to Europe

We need to wire about 4430 czech koruna to a bank in the CR.

According to the website XE.com, that's currently about $206 US

Both Sovereign and Citibank (the 2 banks where we have accounts) charge about $30 to wire plus a 3% fee. So, we will pay about $245.

Any better options?

Wiring money is the most expensive. I've sent of few.

I've also done bank drafts, at about $6 per. This is the equivalent of a certified cheque, made out to the destinee, in their currency. The cheque is drawn on a local bank in their country, one that your bank has made arrangements with.
The money is withdrawn from your account when you buy the bank draft (like a certified cheque). You then mail it to them. I've 'never' had a problem with someone not being able to cash one (I say never...there was one time, but statistically...never). If it's lost, you can recover the money.

Also...cash (their currency), Paypal, Western Union,etc..are other roptions. WU is expensvie.

I think we have to do a banking transfer, as that is what the company requires.

If it HAS to be a wire transfer, that's what you'll pay. No getting around it. My bank charges me only $25, but that's a special rate as I do lots of wires. Most will charge $35 to $50.

My bank requires the IBAN, BIC and destinee's name and address. Make sure that you tell the bank you want to cover all of the costs...I've had occasion where I did not check and they were going to bill the destinee some of the costs.
