Advice Needed : is this apartment in Le Maris a gem?

Hi,

Appreciate anyone who can provide advice/views on this apartment. Rate quoted was around 190euros a night for early April. I thought the deal was too good to be true.

Looks great to me , Rue des Archives is an excellent location. 190 a night is a bargain.

It looks great!
I would not want to sleep in the bed on the floor but the rest of the apt and the building look great!

I really like this one
I will keep this one for a possible 2006 trip to Paris.

Thanks for the comments. I am actually very partial to modern/contemporary design. And my search for the perfect apartment continues.

I now have identified another potential, and am awaiting confirmation of availability and price. It is smaller than Marais apartment, but it is newer. I like the location of both apartments.

Assuming the price is comparable, which would you choose.

The website of the new potential is :

From the photos, I prefer the Marais apartment. The St. Germain one doesn't look like it gets much natural light.

mercury, I see it the same way as Dave_in_Paris. I prefer the place in the Marais--probably the feel of it, as much as anything else.

I'm not as familiar with the St-Germain neighbourhood, but I walked along rue des Archives two weeks ago and really enjoyed the area.

Thanks all for your comments. Looks like the apartment in Le Marais gets the vote!

I can't tell from the photos - but can anyone determine if the apartment comes with air-conditioning and hot water for the bathrooms?

If they have a/c, they usually tell you , so I assume there is none. I think the radiators are under the windows. All of these apts come with hot water. That one has a dishwasher too, doesn't it?
But sadly for the summer traveler, a/c is still not in every apt.

I just saw that you are going in April. I really really doubt you would need a/c in April. I have been in Paris in April and wore a coat and was happy for heat

Scarlett, the apt you posted looks great! Unfortunately, if I read it correctly, it's on the 6th floor (European) of a walk up building!

Scarlett,

I am actually rather heat adverse. But I guess I can take a chance for April. The agent has confirmed that there is indeed no air-conditioning in the apartment.

Little to fear in April - unless God compensates for one of the consistently chilly winters in Paris in years.

That is a lovely apartment. Too bad it has two bedrooms because I usually travel alone.
