Advance tickets for Sagrada Famiglia in Barcelona?
We'll be in Barcelona May 27-30 and want to see the Sagrada Famiglia while there. I found a website offering advance purchase tickets. Is this avisable, or do we buy at the site when we arrive? Thanks!

Hi. We were there last September and just got tickets at the booth at the entrance.
I'm sure you are aware that the basilica is under construction both inside and outside. Also, we found there were long wait times for access to the lifts and the towers.

Some people like to purchase advanced tickets because the line can be fairly long if you aren't there first thing in the morning. When we went last May on a Sunday afternoon, the line was quite long but moved fairly quickly. It just depends on how much detail you like to have in your planning.
I believe most of the construction on the interior is done. Someone on TripAdvisor reported on a visit in the last couple of weeks that there was no inside construction at that time. There was a lot of it when we were there in May, but the interior was still incredible. I'm looking forward to seeing it again this year.
Lines for the elevators can be quite long. If the line for the front elevator is long, go to the back elevator. That is often much, much, much shorter.

I bought advance tickets because it allows you to totally bypass the long lines (there is a separate entrance for those who purchase the advance tickets. Seemed worth it to me, but the downside of course is that you are locked into a time (an hour's window.) If you don't buy advance tickets the advice is to get there at 9 when it first opens.

IMO whether you buy advance tickets or not..GET there as early as possible.
OK, so you get advance tickets and avoid "those long lines." Guess what? The place will be MOBBED inside and out anyway and your avoidance of long lines simply gets you into the mob scene that much faster.
the place is EXTREMELY popular so this is the ONE day when you do not want to sleep in.
