Amanda: You could try one that I was looking at for our trip in May, but settled on Assmanshausen instead.

It's the Hotel Hoemann just across from the Bahnhof on Bahnhofplatz 5. It's clean, family-run and cheap. About $50.00 will get a double with breakfast included. The phone is +49 (0) 261 30378-0 or fax +49 (0) 261 303781. They have a website at "www.hotel-hoehmann-koblez.com.

Don't forget to see the "Deutches Eck".

Have fun!
Amanda - if you are not in a hurry - why not write to their tourist office - they sent me a comprehensive list of their hotels: [email protected]
Enjoy!

Hey Amanda,

That URL (with the 'n') worked for me (it is auf Deutsch though).

http://www.hotel-hoehmann-koblenz.com/

'Deutsches Eck' literally means German Corner, and I believe it is where the Rhine and the Mosel meet.

I've never been there though, so I can;t add much else.

Ike.

Amanda (and everyone!): Yes, the Deutches Eck is indeed "German Corner". It is the riverside park where the Rhine and Mosel Rivers converge. There is a park with a very large monument with one of the Wilhelm's, I believe, astride a stallion and you can go up into the base and it provides a great view of the river(s) below.

Thanks for helping out on the "Koblenz" spelling.

Hope you got into the website okay.

Lee
Thanks Bob.

But we are tied up as such. We're hoping to catch the first rhine cruise from koblenz to bacharac, first thing in the morning.

We're probably getting to koblenz a little late. The day we arrive at koblenz, we're leaving amsterdam early, stopping off at cologne and then to koblenz.
