Will be travelling to Cinque Terre 1st week in June - would like some advice on where to stay. We are considering either Doria Park in Lerici or Hotel Firenze in La Spezia. Any comments/advice would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone encountered problems with on-line booking ?

We "commuted" to the CT by boat from the pier at Lerici - across the Gulf of La Spezia - ideal!

Can't comment on the establishments themselves,(we stayed in a converted watermill up in the hills)but Lerici's more of a holiday place and La Spezia is more of a navy town

Have you checked on Portovenere, just south of 5T, at the north side of the La Spezia bay?
Lerici is on the south side and not really 5T.

Why don't you stay in any of the 5 towns of the Cinque Terre itself? Try www.5Tterre.com or do a search here under Cinque Terre accomodation. we stayed in Riomaggiore and hiked and trained the CT over 2 days. Good accom all villages!

Lerici is great, a delightful town. When we went to Cinque Terre we were driving and stayed in Levanto where it was easy to park and take the train into the five towns.
