Accommodation recos for Barcelona
We will be spending about 4-5 days in Barcelona in June and I am looking for suggestions on:
1. Which areas we could focus on to look for Airbnbs
2. Hotels / boutique hotels (reasonable pricing not too expensive) with breakfast included.
We will not have a car and the plan is to do all the touristy stuff - so something that's fairly central and close to public transportation.
Would appreciate your recos for the above.
Thanks.

sejal2022travel,
I would look somewhere in the broad Eixample area, above the bustling Plaēa de Catalunya and below the Diagonal. The Passeig de Grącia, sort of in the middle of the Eixample (the Expansion) has a metro stop and is on the commuter (rodalies) train line if you want to have a beach day in Sitges, and the Aerobus stops at Plaēa Universitat. The area around the P. Universitat is handy.
I can't help you with specific airbnbs because I haven't used them in Barcelona.
For boutique hotels, we could help more by knowing your budget and whether you'll need 2 hotel rooms, a quad or a family suite (4-star Roger de Llśria in the Right Eixample has one).
Many families on a budget like the Hotel Continental Palacete on the leafy Rambla de Catalunya in the Eixample because it offers a 24-hour "snacking buffet" for guests in addition to the breakfast. But you really, really have to like the color pink
...and its very Old European style, not at all sleek and contemporary.

If you're seeking something newer and more upscale, directly on the Passeig de Grącia there are the 64 Apartments, run by the Hotel 62.
Up near the Sagrada Family there's the Hispano 7 Suiza Aparthotel that has fully equipped, serviced apartments with daily cleaning, 24-hour front desk, restaurant and access to a sports center with pool. And it's near a metro stop. I've used it. It's been around for a long time.

You can check booking.com and add filters on the left for apartments only or for hotels, using 2 adults, 2 children (Booking.com will ask for their ages, as children over 12 are considered adults in Spain hotels), and the number of stars, the review score, ones with breakfast included and even your price range as your filters.
Booking.com has lots of Barcelona apartments.

On our return to Barcelona we were getting off a cruise, so picked something closer to the Sea. Boy, it was such a great place! Hotel REC near Parc Cituadella and Arc de Triumph. Very mod, fun, large rooms very well appointed. Roof top pool off breakfast/lounge area. Great restaurant next door too. Safe area. Prices were very reasonable (3 yrs ago). Short walk west to the Ramblas. Our first visit found us in an older traditional hotel in the Eixample area, but this place had lots of style.
