accademia d'opera italia ...La Traviata
I have received information regarding an upcoming performance at All Saint's Anglican Church near the Spanish Steps Rome. Was wondering if anyone has attended anything there and WHERE the actual performance would take place? One of the best things we ever saw and it was gratis was a orchestral performance at San Lorenzo's in Florence. It took place right IN the church below the altar. I would hate to pay good Euros for Traviata and end up in a basement hall.Anyone?

In Jan.2005 my daughter and I went to to this opera at All Saints. We loved it! It is performed there in the church[not in the basement]. There was an orchestra of 19 and maybe 12 to 15 singers. The lead soprano was a trifle weak but the baritone was wonderful. We had a great time. lynda

There is a website for the church operas. We reserved tickets for La Traviata for early April by email--www.musicaemusicasrl.com. However, this one is at St Pauls. Try this number for All Saints: 06 78 42 702-339 71 18 452/6--sorry I don't have their website.

I ordered on line beforehand, took a print out confirmation in and paid for the tickets the day of the performance.
I'm not going to swear to all that as it was over a year ago but, looking at the notes from our trip, I'm pretty sure thats the way it worked. It was close to sellout as I remember so get there ahead of time for seats. lynda
