an early 30s couple here. Finalizing our upcoming trip to Basque Country. Looking to have a relaxing and fun trip. Any suggestions/ideas on itinerary? Looks ok?
Day 1-arrive in AM to San Sebastian, full day in SS
Day 2-spend another day exploring San Sebastian, beach
Day 3-Getaria & Bilbao all day, return to SS at night
Day 4-another full relaxing day in Sen Sebastian
Day 5-Hondarribia & St Jean de Luz, return at night to SS
Day 6-Full day Biarritz, spend the night here
Day 7-visit Bayonne then drive to Bilbao for a 10pm flight
thoughts?

Ypu're missing the beautiful Basque villages in the foothills of the Pyrenees, Ascain, Ainhoa, Saré, Espellette, etc. they are among the loveliest of the villages we have seen in France. Drive into the hills from St-Jean de Luz.

Getaria and Bilbao both in one day don´t seem right. Save day 3 for Bilbao only, really worth it, and do Getaria on the morning or afternoon of day 4. Hondarribia, Bayonne, St Jean de Luz and Biarritz can very easily be done in one day, and keep day 6 to visit wonderful Rioja region, just one hour drive from Bilbao.
Try to fit in Lekeitio, Ea, Elantxobe and Mundaka, with amazing San Juan de Gaztelugatxe on the way.

I've never been able to do Hondarribia and St-Jean-de-Luz in the same day, but if you do decide to go with it, then do St-Jean-de-Luz first, finishing in Hondarribia. The French eat lunch far to early, between 12:45 and 1:30 (In Spain, we don't even think about lunch until after 2:30). You can then do pintxos in San Sebastian that evening. Most places will be open until at least 11:00, a few until mid-night.

thanks. I might make Bilbao a full day trip and move get aria to day 4. thanks for that suggestion. No need to add Rioja as we will be coming to San Sebastian from Rioja. The Pyranees would be wonderful…not sure where to squeeze that in
seems too tight as is.
