Thanks very much, Leely2! I can’t really pick one top spot, they all had very special things about them! But, I did love the mosaics in Ravenna. I can’t really weigh in on Bellagio being too touristy as I didn’t get to see a whole lot of it. It was raining the day I went and I decided not to climb the stone steps up into town, I was afraid I’d slip and break something! What I saw, I did like.

Lovely trip report and so helpful. Seems like you had an amazing time!

How did Modena compare to Parma? We are debating which town to rent an apartment in for a couple of weeks!

Very helpful and interesting report! And beautiful photos! I admire you for traveling solo and for driving in a foreign country! I do all the planning and my husband does all the driving.

Can you please give me the names of the hotels you stayed at in Milan, Venice, and Bologna? Thank you!

While I enjoyed both towns very much, I think I’d have to say that Parma caught my heart more. Especially, the place I ate dinner twice in 3 nights! I’m sure you’ll enjoy either of them very much!

How about a week in each? That would more than enough.

Thanks so very much, Karenwoo! Im sure you’ll have a wonderful trip!

In Bologna,I stayed at this apartment: https://www.vrbo.com/10198323ha?unit...2Bhasc%2Bemail

I stayed at the Westin in Milan using Marriott points. Lovey hotel and service. It’s pretty close to the train station and a half block from the hop on/hop off bus so easy to get around. I used that as my main method of transportation as it was convenient and much cheaper than taking a taxi all the time. And I was able to see all the sites using it! Not sure how cost effective it would be for a couple as a main use of transportation but great for getting to various sites around the city.. Check it out.

In Venice, I stayed at the Hilton Molino Stuckey, a gorgeous hotel and service! Again, I used points for my stay.

I’m sure you will have a wonderful trip!

Would you mind sharing the details of your Padua apartment? We will not have a car so parking not an issue. Many thanks.
