Gorgeous pastry and mosaics, Paqngo. Brava for continued learning in my favorite country.

Just loving the photos, Paqngo, especially the mosaics in Ravenna which I have yet to see. Also having the chance to be with your family especially the littles in the afternoons must have been a treat. Looking forward to more!

Your trip seems superb so far even though I am a bit tired of those foam designs on coffee.

What intrigues me is adding Bern and Colmar to Bologna.

Thanks Tdudette and Adelaidean.

You will get there Annhig. I really wish I had some more time in Ravenna which is good because I will want to go back.

No more coffee design pictures are coming up kerouac. Although it is no easy feat for the baristas and I admire a beautifully made one.

Paqngo, these are all delightful photos. You've covered just about everything we want to see when we travel--food, architecture, people, ice cream, dogs, sunsets.... How great that you got to spend time with your niece's (?) adorable little girl.

Venice was someplace I have never been and I really wanted to see it the first time with my dh. After talking to him, he encouraged e to go for it. With rain in the forecast for a few days later we decided to explore Venice. You are only as fast as your slowest person was something I had to remember. That and some patience.

Walking put the train station doors made me understand why people love it. The sun shining making the water sparkle like diamonds. What a beautiful city.

We were able to stay for a good chuck of time. Really enjoyed getting away from the crowds and wandering the smaller lanes. The only glitch we had wad when I went to change our return tickets to a later time. I had decided not to do it and I did not click the continue button. It changed them anyway…..to the next day. Had to go in and talk to someone who was not able to help at all. We had to take a slower train back. I was able to get a partial refund but I might try to contact them via email when I get home.

Dinner was at a place along a canal and it really was not anything special. The appetizers of bruschetta and fried olives were good.

The next day was another stunner. I walked to the train station and was in Florence by 10. Going solo gets me places a lot quicker. I had looked up different squares and with that in mind off I went.
