A photo report on Reykjavik, Iceland

Isn't the internet a fabulous resource for those of us who love to plan our own trips? I've been using Fodors forums since the late 1990s, plus these days I also browse a host of food and travel blogs and other websites.

Here's my first post from our Iceland trip, a photo essay and some short paragraphs about Reykjavik. Includes some recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Thank you,
Kavey

Gosh, thank you, that's very kind.
I'll be creating further posts for the rest of the island, but have some other tasks to do first.
Lovely to know you enjoyed.

Hi Percy
We went end of August, beginning of September for 12 nights. (I'll post more reports for rest of the trip when I have time).
I can't recall actual temperatures, but was sunny a fair bit of the time, very long hours of light, but cool enough for a cardigan most days and an autumn coat some days. A few days of rain.

Kavey,

I'm glad I found this! I have a stopover in Reykjavik next July for a few days en route to Paris. I loved seeing the photos and reading of your adventures so far. Thank you for the info, including the places to eat - most helpful!

It was one of those trips that, even during the trip, we were talking about a future trip! Always a good sign, right?

How interesting! I am planning my own first trip to Iceland for this July - can't wait to delve into your blog! (Blocked at work, so I'll see it tonight at home!)

LOVE the photos! Especially of the sign at the Laundromat Cafe "we love both babies and boobies!" This just made my day as we're planning a trip with our baby this summer haha

Greendragon, I need to post more as I got stuck after part 2!

MilehighHC, it's a lovely place. I would imagine other places would also be fine with breastfeeding, it's only us puritan Brits and Americans that have made it into an issue, which is ridiculous. What does it say about a civilisation when breastfeeding babies in public has become an issue? I think Iceland is pretty laid back.

Very late, but I've decided to resume the postcard series. Two more, the second one includes a mini report on the brewery visit:
