Just returned from Ireland. Kinsale was wonderful. Went to Man Friday's, it was ok. We really enjoyed the white fish at the White House. There is a hotel in the heart of the village that I heard was wonderful. We stayed at the Danabel just up the hill from the village. It was a lovely place with great beds and bedding. If you have a car, take a ride to the Old Head Golf Course. It is located on the ocean.

I agree, the city of Cork is too industrialized to be worth an overnight stay. I'd either go on to Kinsale or stay a night at Balleymakeigh House a lovely farm B & B, near Youghal which is about half way from Waterford to Kinsale. The proprietess, Margaret Browne is a gourmet cook and dinners and breakfasts there are very special.
