Melnq8, I really enjoyed reading your report, too. Love the photos of Poschiavo and the lake. The lake is gorgeous! We probably won't make it to this part of Italy so it's a treat to see these photos. If we return to Italy after our May trip, it will most likely be to southern Italy and Sicily.

Thanks again Mel. I really enjoyed following along with you. I especially enjoyed your pictures of Poschiavo and Alp Grum. It brought back fond memories of our stay in Varenna a few years ago when we took the Bernina Express to St. Moritz. I wish we could have spent more time in that area.

Yet another fantastic, informative report, Mel. I've used your tips on hiking in New Zealand, and I'm currently researching winter hiking. I'm also encouraged to look at using bus/train for our fall trip which requires going from Franfurt to Lech to Brixen to Val Badia and back to Franfurt (possibly Zurich). Looking forward to your future travels.

Thanks guys. PJTravels - we did Brixen and Alta Badia by public transport in Sept/October, I have a report posted here for that trip as well if you think it might help. Have fun planning.

Melnq8 I had to take a break reading this back in Feb, and finally caught up and finished the whole TR (from Bellano onward). While I doubt I will visit most of these places, i find your report so fascinating, and that you and Bill just take everything in stride. Thank you for taking the time to write this and taking us along on the trip!
