A London question for those who watch BBC Food

I have wanted to find out for some time now ( just out of curiosity) where in London was Jamie Oliver's flat where he used to cook up a storm?
In the introduction to the TV programme and even during the sequences, one catches a glance of a narrow street with a small grassy area opposite.
All I have ever recognised is the BT Tower somewhere in the vicinity but this could be camera tricks - somethings look closer than they really are.
Do any of you London dwellers know where it is?( or was).

His place is in Hampstead but I think he was selling when we were last there (May 2005). In any event we were on a walking tour of Hampstead when the guide pointed out his flat. According to the guide, Jamie Oliver was tired of chaps from the local pub banging on his door at 4 am asking for a fry-up! Not sure if that is really true. Sorry I can't tell you exactly where.

At least Sainsbury's will be happy that people were watching the Ad.

Thanks Mrs Wilde.
When I see an old re-run of his early cooking programmes I often wonder just where the heck is/was Jamie's pad with the cork-screw stairs he loved to slide down!

He's moved to Primrose Hill now. I also think the original place was in Hampstead.

i used to see jamie out with his family in hampstead all the time (over the last few years). nobody pays him notice and he seems able to walk around unbothered. saw him many times in the little market in the centre...talking to the fish or veg man.

however, his original house with the spiral stairs and scooter...from his very early cooking shows (naked chef) was on or near goodge street (not sure exactly where)...the italian restaurant that he often visited on that show (the one with the doors on the pavement leading to the cellar kitchen is right on goodge street and is still there. that series was definitely not filmed in hampstead and he did not live there at that time.

I'm pretty sure he didn't move to Hampstead untill after they got married. I also thought the original flat was near Goodge St. I think he also lived in Hammersmith for a while.

Thanks Walkinaround & Janisj - Goodge & Charlotte streets seem to fit in with the BT Tower looming in the background.
I am convinced it was around that area, so you have satisfied my curiosity.
Once again it proves somebody out there will know the answer - you guys are great!
