Though I agree that an infant will not remember anything he/she does, the parents should have a good time.

About Paris-Nice overnight train - forgot to mention that train has no private compartments but just couchettes and regular 1st and 2nd class seating.
So not viable for folks with 1.5 year-old kid - could occupy same couchette berth as a parent but if prone to making noises at night not a good idea -if sleeps like a baby maybe.
I was thinking private double could be rather nice but those do not exist on that train.
